Semper Fi

Welcome to the 6th annual Danville Half Marathon and 10k. Both races are out and back, along the Iron Horse Trail, winding through the small towns of Danville and Alamo, California. We are pleased to be teaming up with the Semper Fi Foundation again and the Danville Veterans Community in an effort to raise awareness and money for the valiant that have fought for us and lost in some way. All proceeds from the race will be donated! Previous runs have raised over $15,000 for the Semper Fi Foundation.

Start

All 3 races start on the south west side of the building in a cul de sac well marked

Finish

The finish line for all 3 races will be at the start line

Course

The course is a beautiful relatively flat out and back course along the Iron Horse Trail. There will be aid stations roughly every 2 miles with water and a sports drink. At the half marathon turn around we will also be providing snacks

Support

There will be aid stations roughly every two miles. There will also be course guides along the trail, and crossing guards where needed

Time Limit

There is a 4 hour cutoff for the half marathon, so the course will close at 12:00

Bag Check

There will be no bag check, however, the parking lot is right next to the starting line

Spectators

Spectators will be able to see runners from any point along the Iron Horse Trail starting at San Ramon Valley BLVD up to Rudgear Rd

Weather

For the past 5 years the weather has been perfect, near the 60s at the start and hits the 80s by mid day The event will be held rain or shine

Travel Information

If you are coming from out of town, there is a Best Western located only half a mile from the race starting line. Best Western Sycamore. There are also a few other hotels located in Walnut Creek and San Ramon, which are only 10 minutes away

Directions

Danville is located 35 miles east of San Francisco. Take Sycamore Ave from 680 and go east. Turn left on Old Orchard Rd and then take your first left behind the School District building and park in the large parking lot at the LDS Chapel

All runners will receive a runner's medal and event t-shirt Must be registered by May 10, to be guaranteed a medal and t-shirt Water, fresh fruit and muffins available

Packet Pickup

Packet pick up will be at ClubSport San Ramon Thursday, May 25th from 10am-close and on Friday May 26th from open-8:00pm

Registration

 

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that there will be no Danville Half Marathon in 2018. I have been unable to secure permits for the use of the Iron Horse Trail by the East Bay Parks and Rec, among other logistical concerns. I think the race grew at a more rapid rate than expected, and having so many people on the trail at once became an issue/potential safety hazard. I am continuing to work with them to see if we can resolve this issue for 2019.

However, the Danville Half Marathon has agreed to partner with the Armed Forces Half Marathon, scheduled for May 26th 2018. Team Blue Sky Events Mgmt. Group has agreed to donate 25% of all registrations brought in by the registrations of those who have previously run the Danville Half Marathon. A “How did you hear about us” Radio Button is being created so runners can check that during registration.” #DanvilleHalf will be one of the choices. Please come support our troops!!
